The Price of Free Online Games

Free online games are not Free.

I say this statement based on my experience. They cost something, and they often cost more than you ever imagine.

I’m no scientist, and I’m definitely no economist. But what I am is a rational man (most of the time).

Here are some things I want to say about these free games floating around the internet and in mobile devices.

Free online games cost you time.

Free games can eat up a lot of your time and lessen productivity. It will take you longer to do a task because time for free games eats up time for work. The worst thing about this is some or should I say most people are playing their games during office hours. Farmville, Pet society and all those Facebook games look innocent, but are actually time vacuums. I recently read in the news that companies have banned Facebook in company networks to stop their employees from playing online games specifically in the Facebook website.

Free online games use up electricity.

It will eat up your phone’s, tablet’s or laptop’s batteries making you charge more often. Charging your batteries more often uses more electricity, resulting to higher electricity bill. The same applies for desktop computers.

Free online games can kill your real-life relationships.

As you get more addicted to free games, you may use up time you can spend bonding with love ones or physically interacting with real-life people. Some will counter this by saying that friendships are born out of being connected to other players online. I wouldn’t term those connection as friendship. Would those people help you if you have a problem in real life? Could they give you the same comfort as a real hug would?

I’ve even heard of persons forming romantic relationships with their online buddies and end up leaving their real-life partners. Just pathetic.

Free online games cost you money.

Even if the online games are free to join, the cost of internet access and maintenance of your electronic devices is still there. In some games, if you want to upgrade your characters or access special levels, you need to purchase items and level-ups through online transactions or buying prepaid credits from retailers.

It’s been a topic of many TV shows already: a lot of school kids are spending lunch money just to play in internet shops. Students skip classes just to spend money paying for internet access outside of their homes. There’s no surprise internet shops are popping up everywhere, especially near schools.

Free online games are fun to play but you should be aware of the effects of spending too much time with them. If you’re not careful, free online games can cost you more than you expected.

Free Online Games Can Improve Your Memory

When it comes to free online games, many parents are not so keen about introducing them to their children. However, there are benefits in these games as well. For starters, many educational games over the internet can be enjoyed during their free time. These are the type of games that can boost a person’s general knowledge and memory skills.

As a matter of fact, it is not just children who can benefit from playing free online games. They, aside from being easily obtainable over the internet, can also be used as a bonding time of parents and their kids. Young tots care nothing more than an hour or two spent with their moms or dads having fun. For the child, it is enjoyment. For adults, playing these games can be a source of relaxation to their everyday duties.

Free online games stimulate a person’s mind in such a special way no other learning tools can. Games can enhance one’s memory without tiring it just like studying would be. Needless to say, everybody needs a dose of them every single day in order to make their mind work faster and better. If your body needs physical exercise, so does your brain. And there is no better way to do it than while having fun!

The exercise that mental games give to your brain keeps it focused and sharp. Select an online game that is both entertaining and stimulating so you can train your brain really well. For example, playing word games is a good way of improving your vocabulary. A simple game of Tetris, on the other hand, can improve your spatial abilities. Furthermore, there are a host of trivia and memory games online that can definitely make an intellectual out of you.

Free online games can be played either alone or against another player. Choose the one that best fits the situation any given day. It is also possible for you and your child to play as a team and battle it up against a computer. Pool in efforts and beat your opponents. There are also many networked games that pit you against other players in other parts of the world.

Over the internet, you will find only two general kinds of games: the paid for games and the free online games. While the paid ones are more elaborate and complex, there will always be free versions of them over the internet that you can play instead.

Also, there are downloadable trial versions of these games for sure. Before buying a game – if you really must – it is always advisable that you try them first-hand so you can be sure that it is the one that you really want and that it can entertain you in the manner that you desire. There are quite a number of free online games available these days, each belonging to a different genre or category. Try each of them if you have the time so you can fully explore the fun of playing online.

Free Computer Games to Make Your PC Come Alive

There is not one computer in the world that doesn’t have one or two games installed. Even if what you have is a work PC, you still need some sort of diversion from the task piling up your table every day. That is the reason why Microsoft created their operating system with built-in free computer games like Solitaire, Hearts, Free Cell and Pin Ball. Too bad your boss doesn’t like them and wipes them away.

But don’t worry. While you can’t enjoy the computers at work with all the games your heart wants to play, you can always pack your PC at home with a huge collection of free computer games that you can get a grip of. These games can easily be installed on your computer right off the internet.

There is a plethora of free computer games over the worldwide web that your computer’s hard drive, no matter how big it is, can’t possibly contain. There are many games available online and you are free to pick the type that suits your fantasies. There are shooting games, role-playing games, and adventure games especially for the man in you. On the other hand, girl’s games like bubble games, dress-up games, and simulation games are easily obtainable as well.

If you want these games, you simply have to go out on a surfing spree and find the gaming sites that offers free download of their games. Also, it is quite possible to play such games using your browser, just in case you want to enjoy them while at work and without the need for installation. Just be sure that your boss doesn’t block the site and you won’t get caught playing it!

There is a game especially made for everybody. A single game can come in a thousand of variations and one of them is a perfect fit to what you are looking for. For example, a simple racing game with a car and controls can be offered in ten thousand different scenarios over the internet. While all of them are somewhat different in look and in style, there is only one goal – and that is to take your car into the finish line in one piece and ahead of all the others.

Indeed, a PC without even the free computer games installed is not exciting. If you want your computer to come alive, you have to install every new game released in it. That is how you get to enjoy the beauty of both worlds – that of strictly work and of fine leisure. With a computer game, you can reach the farthest end of the earth without even leaving your seat. Try it and you will be amazed as to what free computer games can do for you.
